He's one of my all time favorite Guyanans. Too bad he seems to be gay. Oh well, maybe he will change his mind next year.

Im glad Im not the only person with alternative lifestyle guyana males.Im going to have more males than females soon if I cant find a hetrosexaul male. Two of my females sure did act like they wanted some hot steamy action but the males seemed to be just fine by themselves.Ick.

I think this is the only pic where I captured the males true color. Unfortunately the female is in the dark gravid mode.

Good luck with those... ALL of those. I hope I win the lottery. 'Cause I'm gonna kill myself working to afford all these gorgeous animals.
Thanks, Ray

The Gilas really have become my favorite herp of all time. They really are amazing little buggers. I play with them all the time. Contrary to what you may think in this pic I am extremely careful not to get bitten. The girl in this pic is a very calm & well manered little monster. She just thought she was sitting on a log so why bite the log? Who knows though, they are smart little critters & she may well have known what was going on. She knows who feeds her. I just can't wake her up abruptly. That will put her in a bad mood.

this was retic that i had for 7yrs. from 3ft that was dog tame. i had taken liberties with her in the past. shifting to a box by myself. and just the day to week thing. this day i was cleaning everything and taking pics as well. she was too big for the house so outside we went with a friend to snap a few pics. 10 mins. after the pics i go to get her......and snag......blood everywhere. he went into shock i almost shot it. then i thought...a handgun in city limits..nope. got her to the cage and called MD. ambulance ride and all. total cost $16,741.00 and change. you can never be sure. just be careful.

I got bit to the bone by a totally tame cyclura who had never been in the sun. I was hand feeding him (demonstrating his docility to friends), looked away and Bam! It took 3 mos to get the teeth from my finger. Funny thing is he was eating grapes from my palm hours before. It never happened again. I don't think they deal with the outdoors well... All the sights and sounds must be a great shock to their senses. Be careful handling "tame" reptiles outdoors.
Good night all, Ray
