Reptarium

Greenwicche May 27, 2004 12:39 PM

I just purchased a 30"x30"x48" Apogee Reptarium from e-bay. Got a great deal! I plan to use it as Sweetpea's summer house, as I can move it easily from indoors to outdoors. Does anyone have any experience with these mesh reptariums? Pros and cons?

Just watch out for tearing and ripping...these are made of the cloth mesh and a heavier ig can break out very easily....good luck...Lyn

I use them for shows when I am supervising.

I am scared to use them with lights when I am not around. A heathy lizrd climbs and can knock the lights off.

My now 1.5 pound 30 inch long juvie ig broke out of his by clawing through it in not one but 3 places. Lights burn if you use more than a 50wt bulb any closer than 4 inches. I wouldnt use one of these cages again if I had the choice! they were great while my igs were babies.

I have several reptariums that I use for various species. I used a 65 gal. to temporarily house a juvie iguana, he rubbed his little snout raw in it. It healed up fine with some intervention, but I don't think I'll be using a reptarium for an iguana larger than a baby. They are great for outdoor sunning with some other things.
