HISTORY: We moved to RI in Jan 2003 from Tucson, AZ. In March 2003, we found two Ornate Tree Lizards that had stowed away in the shed stuff. Knowing they wouldn't survive long in RI (0F winters), as opposed to the Sonoran desert, we took them in. They share a 10 gallon tank with a UV light, heat, a real mesquite log, etc. The male's name is Billy and the female's name is Toto.
We believe Toto is gravid (pregnant) and want to provide her the proper egg laying environment. What is a good nesting material/environment? Should we let her eat as many crickets as she wants? She's pretty fat now. When our iguana (Betty) was gravid, she stopped eating. However, Toto seems to be eating more and more with no end in sight.
Any information you can share is greatly appreciated.
PS: This morning notice what looks like might be a small blood stain on the tree limb. Toto is still eating like a horse, although this morning she was kind of holding her mouth open, off and on.
Temp is about 100 F on the basking spot in the day, cooler else where. At night, about 75F. They get calcium powdered crickets and they have a good UV light.
