second clutch here!

geckogirl85 May 13, 2003 08:09 PM

i posted about a month ago that my leo Cesar layed her first clutch. both were fertile except for one started to ooz yolk (i think) through the bottem, so I was going to cut it open but i decided to wait and see if it was really dead, it didnt start to mold or stink but it wasnt hard anymore, so i decided to open the egg up, i didnt want the baby leo to havea lot of problems in is life if it was still alive, when i cutit open there was a tiny about a inch and a half long baby leo, not alive... i just want to know if babies inside the egg that lets say hatched on apri 13, and i cut it open would it have had stripes on it?, because the little baby was white, no spots just black eyes.

i heard that it was unusual to have a young leos first clutch to both be fertile, that is a goodd sign right?

thanks

weird did something puncture the egg causing it too seep. Sounds as if the baby was underdeveloped yet. A normal babie should have had bands if it was close to hatching. I have an egg now that you can actually see the banding on the baby when candled. Sometimes the first clutch is infertile but not always. I would say 50/50 chance. Good luck with the rest of them
