sick baby musk???

newbie83 Jun 18, 2003 12:10 AM

i recently recieved a pair of musk turtles. one had grey spots on it, i didn't think they looked right, anyway it died before i could find out what was wrong. the other one seems to be fine, except some stuff on his shell. not algae, its clear is it just scum from the water or is my turtle about to suffer the same fate as the other one?

Hard to say without more info or pictures. Sounds like fungus though. Keep the water clean and you might try a tropical fish medication like Triple Sulpha or Tetracycline (sp?) etc. I have used these on turtles with mild fungal problems and they work pretty well.
