This is the first time anything like this has happened with my little guy--and it's quite weird:
I was feeding him his goldfish today in his typical dish (I have done this numerous times... so it is nothing new) and he would look at them then open his mouth and push his mouth REALLY hard (while open) onto the dish... sometimes he would miss the fish, but even when he was 'right on target' he would not close his mouth to eat the fish, he would just keep pushing with his mouth open... I thought maybe he had a problem with his eyes so I tested him a bit... I put one of the fishes directly on the mulch and he ate it perfectly normal. Then i threw many crickets in his cage and he hunted them with pinpoint accurance per usual, hence his eyes are fine. I tried several more attempts with his dish--same results... but as soon as the fish would get pushed off of his dish he would just gobble them up like normal..
Any idea what is going on?
