Yellowish tongue tip?

rjharper May 27, 2004 06:42 PM

It could be normal and I've just never noticed it before, but the tip of Fuego's tongue is a little yellow today. She's a yellow or orange phase anyhows, and her beard has always had yellow scales as far as I can remember, but now I'm realyy starting to worry if I've missed early warning signs of a fungus or something.
I've read CheriS's post on Yellow Fungus at reptile rooms (very informative thanks Cheri) and I dont think this is it. We're planning a visit to the vets, (we're due a fecal anyways), but I'd really appreciate any advice or feedback from those of you who have been round the block a few times. I'll post a pic if I can.
Thanks,

I'm sure the yellow is just her colour but still - better to worry too much than not at all

can effect them, they can get darker when not as hydrated. It is also thought that hormones can play a factor in the color. So if she is entering young adulthooh, that can be a cause. Also if they are gravid it can be different.

Your girl looks good... lol, a little tubby, but if she is young that will spread out and her color and scales look fine

Thanks for the advice - I really appreciate it. She is looking a little 'round' these days, but she's still growing, so I'll hold off on the Atkins Diet for a bit yet!!
