chamsrcool May 27, 2004 09:29 PM

i found that my slow veiled like fruit flies more than the mealwroms, crickets and cockroaches i was tring to fed him but had little success with except the ocational cricket that would stay int eh top of the tree.

anyways is there any way to keep the hydei fruitflies at the top of the cage and keep them inside it?

i dont think they can get through the screen but they must get throught the door when its open

What I do is put a piece of banana (a slice will do) on top of the dirt of the potted plant and the flies swarm to it. My baby chams can then just pick off the flies at leisure and it keeps the majority INSIDE the reptarium and not outside.

Veileds like fruit, do he probably will eat the banana and flies. LOL! Be sure you change out the banana every day or other day to insure no other nasties grow on it.
