LOVE THOSE SUNGLOWS!!

salmonboa.com May 28, 2004 11:24 AM

Congratulations to everyone for such an incredible boa year!

I personally feel that we have only scratched the surface of the genetics that awaits us with Boa Constrictors. I wonder if we can ever produce a sky blue one like the Chondro Python. That would be awesome!

Here are a couple of pics of a nice little Sunglow litter this morning. They are so beautiful. Just wanted to share.

Thanks
Rich

Shannon,

In regards to pricing, I can only think of what has happened to the Albino market. They have been around for quite a while now and more and more people are producing them. A few years ago, they dropped to around $800. Now Im seeing them priced between $1200-1500 and there is no way enough albino's can be produced. Maybe by fall Sunglows will be $10K if there are any for sale by then. I really dont know. One thing I do know....I LOVE EM'!

Thanks,
Rich

I love those High Orange Sunglows. Looks like you have a WHOLE goodie litter of them there. I have noticed in some of my litters that there are some that just STAND OUT like those you have pictured. Then I have some I'm not soo impressed with. However, Last year I kept back some of the "Not So hot" Sunglows becuase I just didn't want to sell them cheaper, and BOY am I glad I kept them back. They are NOW Looking HOT. Of course not as Hot as the SMOKERS, but BY FAR better then typical Albinos. As for the pricing mentioned, I think some will be sold on a Looks base. So, if you want Cheaper Sunglows, then you probably will get a lesser Contrast Sunglow. However, just like I mentioned above. They are ALL good in the end. Thanks for Sharing Rich. GREAT PICS. GREAT SNAKES!!!!! Jeremy

I think the KILLER SMOKER sunglows will FOR years hold good value. Yes, they will go down, but people are MUCH more willing to pay more for Better looking stuff. Just my 2 cents.

A Sky Blue Boa??? Now your talkin!!!!!!!

Jeremy- John here, and I so agree on the variance of color in Sunglows, but what if the lesser contrasty, or softer looking Sunlows are the Supers? A SuperSalmon has a much softer look more often than not over a Salmon. It will be fun to find out some day how we visually distinguish a SuperSunglow from a Sunglow.

What do you think?

John
