Dendrelaphis tristis

Newearth May 28, 2004 01:16 PM

I am hopeing to pick up a pair of D.tristis shortly. I have a vivarium that is 18" x 15" x 48" high. The temperature will be 85F down to 80F at night and humidity 80% +. Lots 0f branches and nesting Places, vines and plastic plants.
Will this be okay for a pair. Does anyone know anything about breeding them. How Toxic is their bite.

Regards John

About the size of the cage, the bigger the better, becuse they love to move around a lot.About temperature, it can go higher if you wish to do so;you can see these snakes out and active at 12.30 noon, when the temp.is near 100F. And I think you can forget about getting a bad bite.I would say that the bite is not even painful, although it does bleed a little.Don't know anything about the toxins they produce (if any), and neither about the breeding.
hope this helps
Regards
