Still eating skinks.

buddygrout May 28, 2004 06:16 PM

I purchased this snake at Daytona last year. It was sold cheap as a non-eater. It will eat anoles if I start then by putting their nose in his mouth. He will eat skinks on his own.

It is feeding on its own with any type of prey-LOL!! Since it feeds on skinks on its own, you are on your way to getting it on pinky mice. Wash off a frozen thawed pink and blot dry. Then put the pink in with a dead skink, or better yet, dip it in skink blood. Hopefully the snake will take the pink and you can gradually reduce scenting until no skink scent is needed. I have a yearling female blairs I produced that just started taking unscented pinks on her own the past three or four feedings!!!

Good Luck
