Rose apples, also called malabar plums. The fruit is safe to eat and good if the soil is enriched with nitogen, phosphate, potash and lime.

The seeds can be toxic (actually it is only known to make people sick to their stomach) if eaten, also the smoke from the leaves if burned. ....so avoid those for sure!

One interesting thing I found out, the flowers can be eaten by people also, it is a gormet treat when candied and is sold in the Tropics, Indonesia and Asia

Hmmm... new side line for ya: shipping some of that fruit to other folks?

I live in Saint Petersburg, Wish I had a house I'd try and get a plant from you....

BTW: if you wanted to try here is an idea...

many plants that are tropical and "tree Like" can be propagated by a method known as "Air Layering" it's not hard to do and can make good sized plants much faster than growing from seed.

you get a heavy duty pice of plastic, a wad of wet spagnum moss, some twine and a sharp knife....

cut a ring of *OUTER* bark off a branch no more than the size of a wrist *MAX* generaly one about the size of a thumb or slighly larger.

wrap the moss and plastic around it and tie it shut.
keep the moss damp and over a few weeks to months roots start growing from the upper end of the cut ... when they are good size cut the branch off and pot it up in a proper sized container.
some plants benifit from a "Rooting hormone" such as "Rootone"
which aslo has an anti fungus in it.

not all plants work must most will, how long depends of the growth speed of the plant... this is how you can get many clones of a good plant....

just in case you wanted to grow some...
