My chinese leo died!

gecko_gal Jun 18, 2003 07:16 AM

I am feeling so upset and lost,I had a perfectly healthy chinese leo, which died so suddenly one night of some kind of brain disorder,I was so heartbroken. On postmortum they found nothing wrong with her, which has made me feel I need to know!,they said she either had a heart attack or a brain disease, I know it was to do with her brain, she had horrible fits that night, her pupils where dialated ,was opening mouth as if trying to be sick, then turning to try and bite on her abdomen,it was so distressing to watch!!!.
Could anyone please respond to me, as to what exactly, you may know could have been wrong with her???,has anyone heard of this???any info shall be much appreciated!!!
Thank you*

It's extremely difficult when you lose a friend. That's what animals are, our friends. I'm so sorry for your loss. By remembering all the time you spent caring for him, you can remember certain experiences, giving you a good start at caring for more leos. Every one is different, as I've discovered with my guys. Good luck in the future.

Is there any remote possibility of some sort of toxin?

Thank you both for your replies*
Yes it still hurts to have lost her,she was my friend & my baby*
I know I got her living arrangements right & there was no way of any toxic getting to her, as I made sure all was safe, also they could not find anything pysically wrong with her on postmortum!.
I appricate both of your caring replies*
I shall now try to put my mind at rest and accept, her brain just was not right!.

Thats too bad, It really sucks to lose something your so attached to. I had a cuban treefrog I had for 8 years (which is pretty long) and I loved him, even if he was just a treefrog. He died of old age.
Chinese leos are very beautiful IMO, and dont let this bad experience push you away from these wonderful animals. If there was nothing wrong with him before that day, atleast he didnt suffer for long, and Im sure he had a great life. Later
