hello my female collared seems gravid and has been digging for days now. she has stopped eating and there is no sign of eggs.
How long after she stops eating is she supposed to lay?
Her tail is looking pinched and im thinking of force feeding now. What should i do?

thanks for your help

Maybe she might not be gravid, she could be just wanting to find a hide. You should have at least one per lizard.
Did you try my nest method?
If you did and it didn't work there is a small possibility she could be eggbound. Check aliitle ways down the forum for a problem someone had just like your (maybe yours). Well anyway that post has all the answers.
Don't know if this helped.

well if she really is gravid, bright orange spots or bands, then you do not wanted to force feed her because she stops eating because there is not enough room, more or less. my lizard quit eating like a week and a half before she laid and she was fine.
on the 25th of may there were posts on gravid females and egg laying areas and around march 25 their should be lots of posts from when i was freaking out about my pregnant lizard. it takes about three weeks for them to lay after they show signs of being gravid but i think that eve said something once about her female laying infertile eggs like two months later, but i do not think that is very common. the most important thing is to have an area for them to lay their eggs.
i hope this helped and i hope everything goes ok.

Thanks, she does have a few moist laying spots similar to the ones recomended in the forum. Its been almost two weeks since ive seen her eat but she is still pretty active. Ill give her a few more days before i decide what to do.
Thanks you guys.

for almost 2 weeks everyday, tunnels all over. I too was worried as she did not eat for the same amount of time.

I am aware of the LACK of appetite, but 2 weeks bothered me also.

I know now, that is just the way this girl is when shes gravid.

I think each reacts a bit differently. I have one that always stops eating about 3 -4 days prior to laying and also digs then.

So relax and just keep an eye on things, shes probably fine!
