I was wondering after ovulation if you can count on 100 days like you can with columbians?
Nope.There seems to be no set gestation pattern involved with Dums to me.I never know until I see little ones crawling around the cages.
That's just because your plain crazy Tim!!! LOL, j/k. Last year I predicted four litters within a weeks time period. The results I found put their gestation at around 4 months. I basically noticed swelling...nothing like BCI., some inverted body positioning, kept track of shed cycles, and since four females all did everything within weeks of each other, it made the record keeping fairly simple. In the end, four months was the result. Now, you can put a male dumerils on your female and get copulation probably 12 months out of the year, so the hardest part I'd say is knowing when your female actually ovulates and going from there. If any doubts, keep your male in longer. Out of the 4 females, three shed within a week of dropping their babies, and one shed two days after. Well, I have to run, hope this helps. Once I get everything written out in detail, I'll post it if anyone cares to read it. Take care.
