Small Leo with Big Leo?

ETChipotle May 29, 2004 07:55 AM

Can a small leopard gecko go in a cage with a big female?

We were recently given a large female leopard gecko about 5 years old. We like this one enough, that maybe we might get another one or two to go along with it.

She looks fat, she's eating crickets and superworms.

We're probably going to put her in the 30 gallon that's available, she looks a little cramped in the 10 gallon. I don't like the fine sand in the 10 gallon anyway, but I guess she's been in that for years now.

Small fish with Big fish, same results. Worst case, if too small, the big Leo will eat the small one. At any rate the smaller may be intimidated by the larger and not get as much to eat, as well as being stressed. I suggest putting the larger into the 30 gallon tank, and if you get a smaler, put it in the old 10 gallon until it is close to the same size as your older one....

How big are each of the leos? If the small one is too small, she could eaten.

Also, depending on how much smaller the small one is, the bigger leo could become a bully - fighting, no food, etc. Not good for the smaller one.
