I have a New River Tinc and a Brazilian Yellowhead froglet togetherin a well planted 5 gallon tank (this is temporary housing for a few months...) For the first few months, both seemed to do well. It was obvious that the Yellowhead was more aggressive and dominant. The New River was more diminutive, eating less frequently, but was still healthy and somewhat plump. Both spent a lot of time out in the open...the New River just seemed more finicky. The two frogs have been receiving a diet of mostly FF and termites with a smattering of pinhead crickets and I feed usually two to three times a day.
Lately, I've been noticing that the disparity in their eating behaviors is widening. The Brazilian Yellowhead seems to consume everything that comes into the tank and is getting really fat. The New River seems to be getting more finicky about everything...even termites. The New River likes to pick and choose from a dish termites and unfortunately by the time it's consumed only a few termites...the yellowhead comes along and consumes everything. Other than that, they both seem healthy.
Do you think that this is grounds for separating the two?
