I have never seen the Sunglow so Sharply! SHARP SUNGLOWS born!!!

creptilia May 29, 2004 10:46 AM

I have been waiting 3 years for this day. SHARP SUNGLOWS!!! First, I would like to thank Rich for selling me the Sharp Sunglow producing trio, especially one of the only two male Salmon het for Sharp Albinos produced back in 2001. This is an awesome litter- 1:1:1:1 Sharp Sunglow, Sharp Albino, DH Sharp Sunglow, and het Sharp Albino. The mother is currently finishing the birthing process, so I will be able to post pictures later on today. This particular female Sharp is a beautiful coralistic animal, so I cannot wait to see how the babies turn out. I am so proud of her- she has always been my favorite. She was a little snappy as a youngster, but has matured into an exquisite, mellow trooper. I do not know the count because I believe there are still more under the newspaper I cannot see. I did not want to disturb her much (which was difficult to say the least). She is a big girl, so I hope she hit the 20's in numbers- at least I see a lot of white. She tried to throw me off with copulating after what I thought was her POS, but I knew she had some buns in the oven. This has been truly an excellent year for the boas. Congrats to all!

It is a great year for boas. One of the great things is that so many different people are producing great litters. It is also important that many of these litters are the product of long term projects. I am glad to see so many peoples' commitment to these projects pay off. Congratulations on this great litter.

Not a large litter, but they are all big and active. 17 live, one stillborn (of course it had to be an albino), and NO pills! Sharps are strong albinos- I made sure my breeding pair were not siblings to ensure healthy Sharp Sunglows. I truly believe we need to diversify our morphs. I counted 9 Sharp Albinos (about half are Sunglows), 4 Salmon het Sharp Albinos (DH Sharp Sunglows), and 4 100% het Sharp Albinos. I am so excited to have bred the Sharps, as we need more of these stunning animals. I hope there are more to come this season. Thank you for all your sentiments.

I am with you on they look like Kahl Sunglows, but time will tell. Sharp and Kahl albinos look very similar as neonates, and as you may know, the Sharps usually end up retaining more of their color. This was my hope, a Sunglow whom reatined its neonate coloration. I am partial to the Sharps and so excited to see this line of albino making its claim in the Kahl projects.

Looks like they are pretty similar to a reg sunglow, but i beleive as they age, they will be smokin!!

And as with the normal sunglows, each litter will probaly differ a bit. Good job.

I have the same project, so i have been waiting to see this one for quite a while.
post a good pic of a sunglow, when ya get a chance.

That is fantastic news! It seems like these babies were WELL worth the wait. I wonder what they'll look like after they shed out compared to the regular Sunglows. You must be jazzed...thanks for sharing your good news!

Congrats again!

I alway liked the Sharps for the High contrast of white. I would think the Sunglow would eliminate that because the hypo taking out black and the black being white in Albinos. That is why I wasn't really into that project. NOW that they are Here, it will be AWESOME to watch them grow and color and see if they still retain that white I love. Maybe the color will just be soo bad A$$ that it wil just make it KILLER even without the white. It will be VERY interesting to see the differences in that and the Kahl strain. Regardless, the FUTURE is AWESOME!!!!!!! MAJOR CONGRATS. That is a HUGE HUGE achievment. Best of Luck, and that sure makes up for your other litter. Take Care, Jeremy Stone
