Here is chompy (my NERD red blood)......

lilroach56 May 29, 2004 10:58 AM

Here is Chompy (based on her first reaction to me). Enjoy.

p.s -kara-
Those scars are pretty nasty, makes me hate live feeding even more.
Also, I have her in a sterilite 1754, It looks VERY cramped (she is like 1.5 times the length). I have a slightly larger sterilite (it is like 20" by 14", should i move her into that one?

LOL!!! Welcome to blood pythons, Jake. She should calm down significantly after she's had the opportunity to settle into her new home...I have a feeling her name won't stick.

On the subject of scars, they're actually pretty minimal compared to how they were, and have healed beautifully. We have a strict "no leaving live prey unsupervised" rule here, but the extremely occasional accident can happen, and "Chompy" reiterates this point. I'm very glad that you'll be able to provide such an excellent home for her - I'd planned on keeping her figuring no one would want an animal with cosmetic imperfections, and I'll always have a soft spot for her since she's such a little trooper.

If you want to move her into the larger Sterilite that should be fine - just make sure she has a tight little hide box she can squeeze into if she so desires.

Also, as the two of you get to know each other, should any additional questions come up about general blood husbandry, etc, please feel free to send me an e-mail or if you need to, call me at the shop - 603.382.6361...I'm a phone call away if you need me!

Regards,

K

Thanks for all the help Kara. The good thing about the larger cage is that, it is sorta like a drawer and the top, long sides, and one of the short sides are completely covered so she should feel secure. Plus i have 2 7" flower pot bases from my BP, that should be perfect for chompy. The UPS guy was scared as hell, he got the package ran to the door and ran back to the car. Pretty funny to...gotta order snakes more often.

No torturing the delivery drivers!!!! We've been extremely fortunate to be approved for shipping with them & try to do things as discreetly as possible so that they have no reason to think negatively of the herp trade.

Let me know how Chompy does in the bigger box!

LOL, i won't torture the drivers. Chompy loves the bigger cage, caught her chillen in her hide a few seconds ago.
