Hi Since my green tree frog died, I am wondering if there is a species that is hardy and extra easy for the beginner frogger. Thanks

A well started cb whites tree frog may be a good choice. These are nice and hardy tree frogs.

I forgot to ask if there any are that are also diurnal; not totally nocturnal.

Diuranal species may not be your best choice as the commonly availabel diurnal species are the dart frogs and are often not an ideal choice for the beginner.
Many of the more calm species will adjust to some extent to a diurnal keeper schedule (becoming active when fed for example).
