albino v. regular reptiles

does anyone have any information on the differences between regular and albino reptiles? specifically:

survivorship
breeding information
life expectancy

any info would be helpful including your own personal knowledge and expereinces!! thanks! niki

Well, in captivity they are just as healthy and hardy as their naturally patterned brethren I would say. In the wild though, they would be picked off rather easily though since the pale coloring of an albino reptile doesn't blend into the surroundings as well as their species' normal patterns (that is unless they are living in some snowy area).

thats with leos. some albino reptiles have trouble surviving in captivity for reasons i dont know. lots of recessive morphs of other reptiles have problems, usually dying soon after birth. i think that its mostly the leusistics, like the leusistic BP, and Burms. even if they do survive they often cannot breed. i believe that the leusistic nile monitor owned by "Reptile Haven" has yet to produce, and i also believe they have tried with multiple females. i could be wrong on that. i also think that the albino nile monitors rarely survive, there is only 3 known in the world. luckily in leopard geckos so far, all the recessive morphs survive and produce fertile eggs, as far as i know.
