hey, Phil! saw your Black King pics from earlier and was wondering if you've seen any more lately. i've been talking with a friend of mine about doing some herping out of state(we're from Virginia) and we would like to make a trip out to Kentucky sometime this year. whereabouts do you live? do you ever see any Eastern Milks out there? drop me a line and let me know. here are a couple pics for you and everyone else to enjoy. this is one of 4 Scarlet Kings we've found since last year in September. the last 3 we found earlier this month within a week! we've found all of them on the road at night between 9 and 11pm.

Nice scarlet kings! We have still been seeing nigra, but not quite a many as back in April. They can usually be seen all summer long though then into November. The best time to see triangulum in KY is about over, but with all the rain it may last a bit longer. It gets good for milks again long about late September. I live in the Louisville area.

Where have you found those snakes, in VA? No specific locale needed, I am just interested in the state. Pure elapsoides are rare in VA (so I hear) and I'm wondering if the snakes you're finding have any temporalis influence

yeah, we found all of them in Bedford County, Virginia. i was shocked when we found the first one last September. until then, i thought you had to go out towards the coast, like Virginia Beach, to find them. we even had a guy tell us last fall that the first one we caught was someone's pet that had escaped. but, we've found 3 more since then, so i don't know about that. maybe there is some temporalis influence.

The ones up there seem to have white bands instead of yellow like central Fl.

that's a nice picture, man! we're still wondering if the ones we found might be intergrades between t. elapsoides and t. triangulum.
