Cricket dust question

neon11 Jun 18, 2003 09:48 AM

I am new to having leopard geckos and I was looking for a vitamin duster. I have just calcium in a dish in her tank but I bought Leopard Gecko Dust by T-rex.Does anybody else use this kind? Do you like it?It also says to do it every feeding,so should I do it every day or a once a week ( I don't want to overdose her with vitamins)? Thank you.

The more the better,
if you can, I would give them supplements everday. I use herptivite and reptivite.
heres a picture of what they look like.

You don't even feed them every day, let alone supplement them every day...I would dust crickets for every feeding with a breeding female, but every other feeding otherwise. For hatchlings, perhaps every feeding, but go easy on the vitamins, and stick more with calcium dust. Hypervitaminosis is not impossible--too much can be as bad as too little.
If you're gut-loading your crickets well, you shouldn't need to dust them every single feeding, for adult geckos.
