Blood during bowel movement - Please Help!!!

kokopelli_mana May 30, 2004 04:40 PM

Yesterday after cleaning my bearded dragons cage, he moved his bowels. When he did a little blood came out as well.

I have breed this male with my female a month ago. After he finished mating, I noticed a little blood from him then. This is only the second time I've noticed blood from him.

He eats good and shows no signs of illness. What should I do?

All ideas, suggestions, and opinions are welcome.

Thank you for your help.

Tisha

Is there any sign of a prolapse? I would take him to the vet as soon as possible.

No...

No signs of any prolepses, just blood (maybe a small blood clot).
He appears to be doing well other than that though.
No blood since its initial appearance .

Have you heard of this happening before?
If so, do you know what was done to cure it (if it needs to be cured)?

I have had this happen before with one of my adults a couple of years ago, I panicked and rushed him to the vet, the Doctor could't find anything wrong with him and the fecal exam was negative and he has been fine since. I also had this occur with one of my juveniles who is housed seperately and not even related to my other adult that had the same problem and this happened a week ago with a tiny bit of blood in stool, he is acting normal and looking lively so I am going to watch him for now. I am not sure why this happens and it seems neither did the vet.
