I just bought a cb pair of baby ornates they're probably 2-3 months old so they are quite small.Is it ok to feed them bird seed yet or will this cause impaction? How long will it take until they are mature adults?

hello,
yes they can eat the millet...i wouldn't put any seeds in that are bigger than that. they should chew up all of the millet if they eat it.
i've talked with Doug dix and he also aggrees that baby uros do fine on millet...he hasn't had problems.
as far as sexual maturity and being all grown up...it depends. some as early as 2 years some, not for longer.
some one might know better. right now i'm studying for finals and it's not coming to me, so, maybe someone else could be more helpful.
