Help me transition back to crickets

giggles May 30, 2004 08:31 PM

I got a male baby bearded dragon from my cousin. He was 4.5 inches when I got him less than two weeks ago. He was eating crickets the first few days and then he stopped. I figured he might have been stressed about the move from my cousin to my house. I began feeding him Repta-Aid through a syringe when he didn't eat for about two days and he loved it. He seems to be back to normal now, but I think he is used to eating from the syringe and won't eat any other way. He refuses to eat the crickets when I offer them. They are the correct size and have been gut loaded. He shed since I got him, and he goes to the bathroom normal. He also has gained weight and has grow a half an inch since I got him. I just need advice on how to get him to eat crickets again.

I powder the crickets and I buy them from a pet store by me. He is not eating greens yet. He eats only from the syringe. He won't even eat the crickets if I try to hand feed him. He gets all excited when he sees me walking over to the tank with the syringe. Please help me with breaking this habit.

find a pair of feeding tongs that look similar to the syringe(same color, same size, etc). grab a cricket with the tongs and try feeding it too him that way. try feeding undusted crickets, dusted crickets, and if those dont work try feeding crickets diped in the repti-aid. let me know the results...
