Speckled Kings

Underachiever May 30, 2004 11:03 PM

where i work i am able to find specks in abundance. i have seen no information of any kind pertaining to them being kept as pets or bred for sale.is there a reason for this or is it that just no one has done it.

Speckled Kings are beautiful. Last year at a reptile show I purchased a new hatchling. She was as small as a little worm. But so cute. She is one of my favorites. She is a musker, however, which I think most are. And she likes to eat in private. She won't take her fuzzy from me and I still have to place her in a deli cup for feeding. But she doesn't bite or act crazy when I pick her up. She can imitate a little cobra in her deli cup and she is a great pet. I named her Barbi.

I've had speckled kings all my life, I love em! Probably obe of the niceest kings in my opinion, I've owned dozens an I can count the bites on 1 hand thats incredible considering all but 2 were wild caught!! Speckled kings eat just abotu everything, snakes , skinks, birds, eggs, mice, u name it , they'll eat it. I just caught a 5'7 monster that now weighs 4 pounds, very rarely do any of them musk on me. They all ate great and are easy to breed. The bruit I mentioned above eats anything a drop in her cage, SHE ATE A FULL GROWN BLUE JAY that I found with a broken wing. Anyway , their great pets , GET ONE
