Carpet Turtle?

hudsonjackass May 31, 2004 12:31 AM

Hey, I was wondering if i could keep a juv. carpet python in the same cage as a yellowbelly slider turtle. The turtle is about 3 inches, and the snake about 30 inches. Thanks.

hi there
it's a really bad idea to put these two animals in a cage together-among other reasons is that they are from different parts of the world and carry pathogens(and possibly parasites) to which the other might not have built up an immunity to. it could negatively affect the health of both animals. and although it's likely that they may be fairly indifferent to each other, there is the possibility that they could do each other bodily harm too. best to display them separately.good luck!

My question is why don't you have the yellow bellied slider in water?? Or, why do you have your JCP "IN" water??? A yellow bellied slider is an aquatic turtle.
