escape

eBatz May 31, 2004 02:36 AM

Hi, I have/had an Argus X Flavi monitor. He made an escape last night. It's possible that he got outside but my money is on him being wedged into some impossible corner. My question is if anyone has any bright ideas on how to maybe lure him from his hideout? I've put up a heat light and a little piece of meat and a bag with a few crickets in it.

I also set out water next to the heat sources. When my water escaped (because I was stupid)... it was gone for almost a week. I set out stuff... it never used it. She was fat and hydrated when she escaped so I imagine she just found a snug spot and sat there. She eventually came out from whatever wall she was in, took a crap in the middle of my garage... and hid behind a piece of wood close by. I got lucky. Cooper is only 22 inches and could squeeze into whatever spot she wanted. Only hope is that your monitor allows you to find it like Cooper did for me. Good Luck.

Thats prob the best you can do as far as luring him out. I had my blackthroat escape once becuase I made the mistake of giving him a little vent. Well that night he broke through and was gone. I was almost sure that I would never see him again after tearing the house apart until 6 in the morning. Luck would have it and 2 days later in a room I had torn apart many times, there he was, about 7' off the ground perched on a curtain holder. Sorry for the story but all I can really say is dont give up hope, he'll show up, keep trying with the food.
