Hi I hope this isnt a stupid question but can anyone please tell me the differences btween the New/g frillies and the aussies if there are any, cheers.
The NG is the most common one, since import are close to always available. There are two "types" of aussies, if I'm not mistaken. The silver and the red. Both aussies get much bigger than the NG ones. I always heard that they get bigger, and didn't really realize the difference until I saw one of Weis' red male adult. Those aussies are HUGE compared to the NG frilled.
So, in short, the differences are location, coloration, and size.
Any additions?
Sounds right. The other thing to look for are the large white cheeks in aussie males. Some NGs have them, but not nearly so pronounced.
I was taking some photos recently, so here is one of a NG showing nice brick red color--some white to the cheeks... Next post will be an aussie for comparison.
And of course, there are plenty of hybrids out there and mislabeled NGs (labeled as aussies, but really NGs).

Here is a male aussie--look at the jaw on him!

If it is young, I have a really hard time telling, sorry. If it is full grown, I'd say NG and maybe a female.

Sorry, I just read your other post. If you recently got a baby, you probably have an import NG. Most captive bred babies come later in the summer-fall, and I actually have not seen many aussies around in several years.

Two beautiful pictures there Dana. I love the NG with the red frills. Mine had some red when he was younger but it all changed to black.

Thanks for all the info everyone, very helpful,im in the uk so i doubt theres much chance of me picking up an aussie as they are so hard to come buy lol, think ill probably go for a pair of NG's as I would like to try breeding them as not many people do here,is it true that its not a good idea to house a pair together other than when they are in season?,if not what size should the shared viv be?I will be doing much more research before i get a pair, although there is not much in depth lit on frillies it seems.
