I don't breed dragons so I can't answer many of those questions.... but I thought I could help by linking you to a recent discussion among the breeders here about the expenses, supplies, and payoffs of breeding beardies. It's pretty informative and will give you an idea what to expect.

Basically, if you do it for the love of it, it's rewarding, but don't expect to make any money from it.

I do think the females should be as big as the male. From what I've learned here they should be as big and full grown as possible to devote the kind of energy they need to produce healthy clutches of eggs.
Now maybe one of the expert breeders can help more with the details.

your picture didn't work. You can't link pictures from geocities, you have to paste the url and let us copy and paste it.

Anyways, after seeing that picture I'd think the females are definately too small to breed to that male, unless he's some 600 gram german giant or something. Are the girls still growing?

yes i think the girls are still growing. from what i have heard i think that they are anything from 8 months to a year old. dont know what to do with the pics then. never done it before!! thanx

It really is best for the female to wait until she is about 18 months old. If they are still growing they need all the nutrients and vitamins they get for themselves, not to be sharing them with the eggs.

As for the pictures, just paste the url and we can copy it into our own browser. That's the only way it works. I got to see yours because I right-clicked and copied the url from it's properties. It's no big deal, you just can't directly post a picture off geocities. It uses up their bandwidth, so they want people to go to their webspace to view it.

Yeah I would wait until the girls are about 14 months or older to be safe. Also, the male, when housed with the girls, may not mate in front of you. I don't house my males with my females because they are too aggressive. I just keep them seperate, cool down the girls, then introduce them to the boys. The males I have will mate whenever the girl is in the cage so I can make sure the girls get mated with. I also record that breeding and try to put the girls back in a couple more times over a three day period. This helps to make sure the two mate succssfully. But please make sure that you will be able to sell babies from multiple females. That can be a whole ton of babies depending on the female. Hope this helps.
