That is a really nice enclosure, it looks really strong. Can you tell me again what you used to build it? I didn't write it down last time, but I want to remember when I build mine.

BTW, are you prepared for lots and lots and lots of babies from those two?

I used melamine that is all i use for cages it is heavy but works rather well. as far as babies it doesnt really matter either way, as these were both rescues if it happens it happens you know.

I just think you should be prepared because it's very expensive to raise babies, and you might end up with a lot more dragons if you cant find them all homes.

it will happen. and be prepared for 2-3 clutches of 20 babies, needing 1000s of pinhead crickets a week, needing enough tubs for 4 to a tub, each with basking and UV, and all with good homes to go to. even if you do manage to sell all the babies, i heard from one of the breeders here it takes nearly 2 years to break even on the cost of breeding one pair. and the market is flooded right now with baby beardies - even the respected established breeders cant shift them.

i had planned to breed fuego eventually but having thought carefully about it, its way more cost and effort than i can afford right now.

i can afford it but i am also responsibler enough that is they do start breeding and after the first clutch i can seperate them till i am ready for them to breed again. i have a friend that has like 5 pairs and they will not breed with each other at all.

I would do some research b/c it only takes one breeding for a dragon to lay several clutches. So separating them after the first clutch will not stop anything.

its very common for the female to lay 3 or more clutches of eggs after 1 breeding event. no sooner will she had dropped the first clutch she'll be brewing up another, and then another. so expect to be dealing with 3 clutches of baby dragons within a month or two of each other.

great looking setup. Are those uv florecent fixtures? if so keep in mind the closer they are to the BDs the more effective they are. anything over 12" is a waste and does nothing.
