Proven pair of Northern Pines

sharib May 31, 2004 09:10 AM

I have been looking for an adult male Northern pine to put with my female for months. I finally found one, his mate and an extra albino male.
What is going price of a proven 4-5 year old pair? Female laid the first time this year and laid 13 viable eggs.
What about the young albino male?
Don't know if I paid too much.
Thanks,
Shari

The value is basically up what you are willing to pay. Think about how much babies can go for. I have purchased my black and white northerns from $35 to $45 and my albino for $50, as babies. So, maybe a ballpark figure would be double or triple that amount for each as an adult and maybe that would be a good price for adults. Good question as I have never sat down and wondered how much adults should be charged for. Hmmmmmmmmmm..........

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but the bottom line is if you are happy with the deal then it was a good deal.

I never look at what I can make off of the animals once raised and bred or when buying adults, you never know what might happen. If you lost the male, then you're back to square one.

If you are happy that is all that matters

DC,
You are right, it wasn't the answer I wanted.
I think I paid too much. But I wanted these snakes and I was willing to pay the price so I guess I thought they were worth it.

About three months ago I was given a big female Northern Pine. (She is 6' long and weighs about 1900g) I had never had any interest in Pine snakes, only Corns and Ball Pythons. I hadn't had her for 24 hours before I knew I had to have more. I have been looking for a male ever since. Just hope the new ones are as nice as she is.
Thanks for the reminder that that things are worth whatever you are willing to pay for them.

Shari,

See after only 24 hours, it took just that amount of time for the Pit Bug to hit ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter what you paid for those pines, if you are happy and you love them, then that is what matters! Please post some pics if you have a chance to, I would love to see them.

My pits are my faves and I would have gladly paid more for each of them if I had to when I bought them.

I have a regular clean banded chocolate brown and cream white cal king that, according to what is popular, would not be worth much, but I would never sell her for any amount. She is priceless to me and that is what matters.

Take care!

Well, I just got these snakes today.
They are beautiful snakes. I am so pleased with them. Even if I did spend too much, I am happy.

I'll post pictures soon.
