Is this a baby bearded dragon?

TheBigMacAttack May 31, 2004 05:07 PM

I found this lizard in sunspot new mexico ( southern nm, mountain). it looks like its maybe an inch and a half at most, and at the moment its burrowed itself in some dirt.

Is this a baby bearded dragon or some other lizard? it doesnt appear to have much markings, though that may be because it is covered in dust.

thanks!

Hello Cillie:
From the angle of the photograph it looks to be a Short Horned Lizard.

thats a beautiful horned lizard you got there.
it appears to be a short tailed horned lizard.
check your local laws about keeping him.
I know most horned lizards are protected by law and are illegal to keep.
