Those guys are COOL!!!!!
I haven't seen nor heard a single cicada near where I live. It's weird, people all over here and where I work have infestations but my neighborhood is quiet. LOL! Well, quiet except for my dogs!
I guess word got out that I had chams and newly molted cicadas were on the menu!!
Thanks for the link, Lele....ps, you owe me pics >

I don't have much interest in insects besides as feeders for my herps, but I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and the weather here is TERRIBLE, high 60's low 70's around all of the east coast, and we haven't had a day's worth of sunshine in over 3 weeks! This makes for bad wild insect catching!
Btw cicadas are insane around here in late July, I get very annoyed by their eeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEps!!!
I'm not sure what species lives here, but they do not infest people's propety, only the trees in the street and in backyards.
Are cicadas good feeders if you can get your hands on them? What kind of nutritional vaule do they have?
I live in NH and it has been a cool, wet spring - good for the plants
It was quite warm on Sunday (or Sat.) and Luna spent several hours outside.
Yeah, we (northeast) have cicadas but not the 13 and 17 year periodical ones. The katydids make a racket, too (related to crickets and locusts)
as for feeders I think folks have given their chams cicadas just be sure it is a pesticide free area!
