That's really cool. I have always wanted a pond for my turtle when we get a house and was wondering how to keep him from leaving the yard. Looks like a wonderful way! Keep us posted on the progress.

The snapper and the painted co-habitate now, so they will both be in there.

I did have to teach the snapper that the painted wasn't food, but she learned very quickly!

When the snapper gets bigger will the painted be safe? Either way great looking set up.

The snapper is about 3 times bigger than the painted. They have been together since they were hatchlings (about 3 years). I watch it carefully, because I think the snapper might become more aggressive when she is full grown. But so far it's really funny to watch them.

The painted will bask on the snapper's back! Sometimes when I feed them, the painted will climb ono the snapper's back and grab the same food as the snapper is eating!

When they see me, they will both come over and beg for food.

This isn't a very good picture, and it was last summer (snappy is quite a bit bigger now), but here there are together.
