New White's Dumpy question

hevychevy427 May 31, 2004 10:05 PM

Hi I have a white's dumpy frog. I also have a collection of snakes. Their room is the most climate controlled room, a steady temp of 81-82... 24/7... can I keep him in there without scaring the little frog with snake odor? I was going to move his 10 gallon back and forth from the living room to the snake room from day to night. That might not be good either. Care sheets said he can eat earthworms..is that true? I have crickets which I have dusted with repti-cal vitamins.
Thanks
Nancy

Yes earthworms can be used to feed whites, mine gladly eat them when offered, but crickets should be used as the staple diet. Also, depending on if your wtf is a baby or not a 10 gallon is a little small for an adult, i would use a 20 as the minimum for one adult. good luck and i hope this helps

I don't really know about the whole snake situation, but I can give advice on the earthworms. I usually purchase night crawlers for my white's. It is best if you cut them into pieces about the width of your frog's head before feeding. If you leave them whole they often have trouble getting a hold of the worm and lose interest in eating. Don't worry, the worms still live even if you chop them up
