memorial day by the pool... uhhh in the pool

beardiedragon Jun 01, 2004 09:10 AM

well I decided to try a different look for some of my pics. I thought the pool would make a nice color backdrop.

Turns out one of the BDs decided to take advantage of the situation and get some summer relief.

Did he pee in the water?LOL. On a more seriouse note. Do you worry about the chlorine in the water?

I worry more about the pooping in the pool. I try to soak them in a tub BEFORE they are allowed in the pool. Pool water actually has less chlorine that the tap water here.

i'm not sure we were in the same miami yesterday, all i got was rain!! i'd be a little concerned about the effects of chlorine on the dragon - i hope he's ok.
great pics though - we've come to expect nothing less

0.1 Bearded Dragon (Fuego, spent the last 10 months thinking she was a he!)
2.1 Roommates (require more cleaning up after than the dragon)

rain!!!! I WISH, I have not seen rain in so long I forgot what it looks like. I am outside most days with a pressure cleaner misting the animals.

I rarely let them in the pool anyway but believe it or not, the drinking water has a higher concentration of chlorine than the pool. I keep my pool chems to a minimum. after I took her out she jumped back in, couldn't get enough. I used to have a snake that was the same way. She would slither around the yard and then go through the pool to get back to the house.

I always worried about putting too much water in the kiddy pool and making it too deep. HA! Now I know for sure that beardies can swim well and some even love it.

I love to see other beardies that enjoy the water so much.

Is the beardie in that last picture under the water?

yep. he swam about half way then came up for air then right back down until he hit the wall. I put a log for him to climb out of the water onto but he just used it as a diving board and back in he went. When he started slowing down I took him out so he wouldn't get too worn out.
