I have two eastern box turtles and I found them mating yesterday they did this for about 3 hours.I was wondering how long it takes before she will lay her eggs and what signs will indicate if she is pregnant or not? Thanks

mating doesnt alway mean eggs. and anyway, box turtles can retain sperm for as long as four years and then lay fertile eggs. so there isnt any real timeline you can count on. make a nice area with deep dirt and maybe she will lay eggs for you. the best way to find out is the turtle is gravid---pregnant--- is by wieghing her every day and seeing if she gains weight. you can sometimes feel eggs when they are ready to be layed if you gently feel around the hind leg sockets.
