I am absolutely horrified at what human error can be responsible for. I recently received an absolutely gorgeous DH Sunglow female. She was so small. Apparently too small, for I never saw her when I put a larger 2'-2.5' boa in her enclosure.
Now, apparently, I will never see her again.
I do believe the larger boa injested her. I didn't even think they do that. It has never been an issue for me before. But, there is no other way to explain her disappearance. He is fatter than he should be after eating the f/t weanling rat; fatter than others his size that ate the same thing.
Now, I am about to go in and mark all the cages with appropriate info on who resides within their walls. Something I should have done before, I just didn't think I had enough boas to warrant such a measure. How wrong I was.
It was a stupid, thoughtless, and costly mistake. So much grief could have been saved if I had not been in such a hurry. So many times in life there are no second chances. Slow down, think things through, and make the first ones count.
I'm sorry little dear.
I'm sorry Ted.
