When do beardies stop getting skittish?

turtlequest Jun 01, 2004 06:49 PM

I have a bearded dragon that is probably going on about 2.5 months old. I handle him every day for about 10 min. I make sure he is holding me, not me holding him. As soon as i go to pick him up in the cage he runs like im going to kill him. When i have him out he is fine. He tries to run sometimes...but mostly just chills out.

When will he settle down more and get used to me?

As long as you keep handling him daily he should become tame. But if you stop handling for a week or so he will probably become skittish and need re-tamed again.

most babies are a bit fighty. the older they get the calmer they become. they all mature differently so there is no set age but more than likely by 4 months he will be more handleable and by 6 months he will be relaxed.
