I have seen several companies plastic racks in person. My favorite by far is what Jason's Jungle has available. I believe these are the only plastic rack for either small Triangulum or live-bearing snakes with small offspring (Rosy, Sand Boas, etc.).
For larger snakes or nocturnal geckos I do like the Animal Plastics racks. You get 7 tiers for a nice price - at least the last time I checked. I don't know what they are doing now that the rubbermaid box has been discontinued. Make sure you have the boxes in hand before ordering an AP rack.
But I just don't think they are as escape proof for small snakes. A friend of mine has had his Asian Elaphe escape from his AP racks. Dione's and Mandarin's both escaped, I believe. Fortunately he got them back.
To be clear, he absolutely loves the AP racks. He has a few and wants to order several more. He just does not keep his medium colubrids in them anymore.
I have an Animal Plastic 7 tier rack and I do agree, that due to gapping between the tubs and the shelves, hatchlings could escape. Currently I've got my 3 smallest snakes (African House snakes) in boxes on top of the rack till they get large enough to go in tubs. The heat cable works great and it's very well constructed, in my opinion. I also have a shoebox rack from Boaphile which has the same gapping issue- great for baby boas but small colubrids would be out in a flash.

you should check out the racks by Herpcages.com
his rubbermaid system is very nice...
and the issue of small snakes escaping won't happen with these.. the gap is very small.. a hatchling corn would not get out of these... if your in the north east you can see them in person at the upcoming Hamburg PA show... I'm a distributor for his racks and will have them at the show...

I have not seen that product in person. Does not surprise me one bit that Doug Barr would put out a quality product, though.
I've been using his products for years... always high quality..
