types of superworms

WhisQuila Jun 01, 2004 08:33 PM

Well... i know for a fact the superworms i have are not the hormone treated mealworms.

However, i recently saw one of the beetles giving birth... not laying eggs. As far as i knew they were supposed to lay eggs.
So what i'm guessing happened is that i have some Zophobas atratus and Zophobas morio. I'm guessing the Zophobas morio is the more common egg laying version.

Is there any thing wrong with the Zophobas atratus? should i not breed those for my knight anole?

I've never heard of a beetle that didn't lay eggs. I have seen parasites/parasitic insects crawling out of insects that were still alive-- that you may have confused with live young. (I know--Yuck!)
