I've decided to wait for next years hatchlings. I could buy a surplus male from Cypress Creek Reptiles for $850 right now but I don't want a male larger then my female. So what I expect to pay will be the same. Daytona brings good low prices as well as boosted prices to pay for the table and the cost of travel and so on. Not always the best prices! Anyways in the mean time I'll probably pick up a pair of green tree monitors

If you're expecting to pay $750 to $850 US for a hatchling
Diamond Python (Morelia spilota spilota) at the NRBE in Daytona,
then you'd better think again. Last Summer at the NRBE the very
few pure Diamond hatchlings that were available were priced at
$900 to $925. If all ten of the remaining eggs in my clutch
(oviposition 4/17/04; began pipping yesterday) hatch out hale
and hardy babies, then I'll have them at my booth in Daytona.
Since there aren't typically large numbers of baby Diamonds
available, I doubt that the market price will have changed much
on them from what it was last Summer. Also, you need to keep in
mind the current exchange rate when comparing what they are
bringing in Australian dollars over there vs. US dollars here.
