It's 1 year old, since two mounths he has resumed eating regularly, but last winter he refused feeding; in fact his size is midway betwee a baby and an adult red tegu...
He has a hide-box and some bark, I can NEVER see him because he's in the box or buried under the bark.. When it's feeding time he comes to eat and then he runs back to hide quickly.
If i decide to handle him, I have to pick him out of the box, or dig in the bark to find him
He's not vicious or aggressive, he never attempts to byte (he did as a baby), never hisses or strikes, he simply tries to run away and hide in the nearest dark place. if I give him the chance, otherwise he seems to "rest" on my hand, appearently with little stress.
I would make him a friendly pet, getting him used to me and to humans in general.. I was wondering if preventing him from hiding would force him to "accept" sooner or later the presence of people moving in the room around him..
What's the correct way to let this beautiful guy stop being so "unsocial"?
thanks in advance .. ciao from Italy
Adolfo
