>>Yesterday while riding the trace I found a 4-5 foot normal corn snake. Under closer inspection I found that halfway down her body, she got extremely fat, much fatter then the rest of her body, she looked actually rounded from under her belly, instead of more flat on the belly scales. The thickness goes all the way to the anus. I'm am willing to bet she is gravid. Now for my questions, 1) What temps, and soil/substrate do I put the eggs in 2) do i bury them in it 3) how much moisture 4) since it is a wild snake couldn't I put the eggs outside in a tupperware and let nature incubate them for me? 4) how long till the hatch. THANKS
I would be just as willing to bet that she just ate a huge meal. 50/50. Though I suppose it is possible she is gravid. Either way I would minimize her stress. Give her a plastic shoebox or sweaterbox with soaked, then squeezed out damp spaghnum moss, 80* heat. If the eggs start to mildew, get clear 'windows' or look wet...they probably are too wet. Put them in a place that stays 80. If you can actually predict that outside, knock yourself out. Top of your frig might work too. 60days all things perfect, to hatch. Basic rundown.
