Shedding

Greenwicche Jun 02, 2004 10:18 AM

I know igs are supposed to shed every 6-weeks or so, but Sweetpea is on her 3rd shed since April 1. In fact, she's still shedding on her back legs and now her head is starting to shed AGAIN! Is this normal? She is growing fast right now due to her diet improvements since I acquired her March 31. Could it be due to the growth spurt?

Grass is doing the same thing right now. His tail isn't even done shedding & already his head is starting in again.

I definitely chalk it up to improved food & a growth spurt. I haven't measured, but visually he looks to have gotten quite a bit bigger in just the few months we've had him.

He seems just fine otherwise, though a bit cranky & utterly sick of me spritzing him with water every half-hour!

At least she's not the only one! Yea, the daily baths are getting on her nerves. It's funny, she gets irritated with her bath when she's shedding but loves it when she's not shedding...go figure!

you arew orried because she is shedding alot? this is not a bad thing it is good.. it shows that she is growing and eating right.. just make sure you have a uvb bulb and are giving calcium suplements so she doesnt get MBD.
