unsuccessful breeding???

gecko27 Jun 02, 2004 12:23 PM

is it possible to have a male and female live in the same tank and never breed? I have one male and one female in the same tank. They have been together for about five months. I seperated them for about a month to try and induce breeding. I have witnessed the male show signs(vibrating tail), but never witnessed copulation. Any suggestions, should I try adding more females? The male is four and the female is younger but I have had her five months and is the same size as the male. Thanks

You've had her for 5 months, is the gecko 5 months old?

How old and how big are both of them?
I've read in a book that geckos take a year to reach full sexual maturity, also that it is stressful for one male to be mating with one female, for the female.
