nice set-up, a hint to help with humidity. get yourself a small piece of plexiglass or acrylic and cover most of the top of the cage. Dont put your light on it, it will burn or melt. Your little one will thank you.

actually what I usually do for humidty is spray down the cage with luke warm water, not too much though... and then I take a towel and put it over the snakes cage (the towel with warm water too)and use that to keep up humidty but sometimes I keep the light on and not put it ALL the way over the cage.? Which is better?

towels are not as good because they will actually absorb more humidity even if it is wet. use some kind of plastic. I think that is the same tub I use (maybe a little smaller). I do not use it all the time though...only in prep for a mess usually and they need to be cleaned and replaced a lot and it can be quite a pain. If you were going to go smaller, I would say use one the snake can not fit in...going bigger from there is just to do with how much pain you want cleaning. All water containers big enough to soak in just need to be super clean and changed every day or every other day.

Yeah, I see your point, it does become a pain to lift that in and out of a cage, maybe tomorrow I will put a smaller one in... but the problem with me and putting one she can't fit in, I'm a little worried about her skin drying some, I guess it wouldn't if they humidity was super high... but I don'tknow, I will see.... And another thing, istead of a thing of glass or something, What about like a shower curtain? Because I have those, and I don't have any extra glass.. lol...

you can use a garbage bag or shower curtain if you want...I said plastic...anything plastic it just needs to be something water and air can't get through(glass would work too lol). If anacondas are not in water, their skin will look dry which is why I give her large water containers (just not all the time). I have a humidifier in a walk in closet and I mist frequently so I don't usually have humidity trouble but I used to use a fogger before I moved and got the bonus snake closet. I must say it is way easier and cheaper...all I use is a head pad or tape on one side of each cage and I control the room temp with the humidifier (hot mist so it increases temp) and if I really need to I use a space heater I have in there. The lighting is simply the closet light so I only have to turn on one. If you keep multiple snakes this is a great way to go if you have an extra small room or big closet...if not...use the plastic to cover your screen top you only need to leave about an inch or so on each side for ventalation (just the area where you have a light is enough if you have a light)

I use a tub about the size of your whole cage. Usually, like eunectes said, when I'm expecting a mess.
Having a large water tub for an anaconda is not detrimental to them it's more of a hassle for you. As long as you can keep it clean keep it. My new male has a little dog bowl in his cage. He could fit in it if he wanted but so far he just drinks out of it.
My female on the other hand loves hers. She's in it right now. I'm expecting a huge mess anyday now so I hope she stays in it.lol
Also remember that moving water stays fresh longer. If you have a fish air pump with a bubble stone going in the water it will aerate the water a postpone it becoming stagnant.
I cover 1/2 of the top of my screen top for humidity. With a large book.
Nice set up though
Arik
