a question about lighting

taralynn_hughes Jun 18, 2003 01:27 PM

We have Roan in his new cage and we'll post a pic as soon as we get one, but there are some areas of the cage that are not all that bright. We have his uv light in the middle, and his basking lamp in the back corner, but down near the bottom and at the other end of the cage, it isn't all that bright. We have a day glo neodymium daylight lamp (exo terra), could that be used to used light up the rest of his cage? If not, what should we use to brighten up his cage, or do we need to? The cage is 5 feet high, by 3 feet wide and two feet deep

As long as he can get to the area that has the lighting it should be fine. They need an area with lower light so they can regulate their body temperature. Take a temperature reading on the area closest to the light that is accessible, and make sure its with the range suitable for your species.
